Mollie Kaye engages with strangers through unique style and believes this fosters connections, community, and a sense of belonging.
It began as each Tuesday she would ditch her "Middle Aged Mum Uniform" and dress up in a unique style to go about her day. She found people noticed and talked to her . Mollie says this transformed her life and her closet for the better. Her style is pin sharp, her sense of colour sublime alongside her old school elegance it was no surprise to me to hear that the new look sparked conversations and connections with strangers.

Vintage Tourists - Lara and Emma
Can you imagine how it would feel to become a Vintage Tourist ? Dressed in vintage style, visiting historic places, and going to vintage teashops and festivals ?
These two gals do just that. If you spot Lara and Emma out, you might think you have time-traveled back to the 1930s or 40s. I follow Lara and Emma on their journeys across the country and occasionally abroad on Instagram to save their destinations for future trips and to see their outfits.

My story
I don't have a particularly large wardrobe of clothes, but last year I realized that 90% of it wasn't being worn. Trapped in a comfort zone of mostly wearing leggings and cozy jumpers each day, I challenged myself to wear more of the clothes hiding in my wardrobe gathering dust or moths!
I made myself accountable - posting daily on Instagram Stories or a Reel.
Dressing up as if I was going somewhere nice, regardless of what my plans were for the day .
It worked. I rediscovered my love of putting outfits together- lost since my early 20’s and I felt generally happier .
After Christmas I slowed down with the social media postings reflected.
However the pressure of posting on social media had turned negative as I ran out of inspiration on how to present myself each day a on a Reel and felt stories had become repetitive and boring . The positves from positng on social media were similar to those described by Mollie Kaye. I met new people, had great conversations and on the days when I really didn't feel like dressing up, doing so gave the most benefit.
Until next week ,
Cheerio xxx
